Welcome to Surfing Phuket, come and experience the exhiliration of riding that perfect wave and enjoy the laid back surfing and beach lifestyle at Kata beach and Nai Harn beach, some of Phuket's most beautiful beaches.

Our friendly instructors who are kind and patient will make your surfing lessons fun and exciting. For maximum quality we teach no more than 2 students per one teacher, this way our students get a lot of attention and learn more quickly.

We can also take you on a surfari, that's an adventure surfing trip, your guide will show you the best breaks on the island. We can take you to spots that suit your ability and the day's conditions.

LESSONS

THE 1 AND A HALF HOUR INTRODUCTORY COURSE

In this course you will be learning the basics of surfing, it will give you a good idea of what it's all about.

We will cover :

- knowledge of the ocean
- safety precautions
- equipment knowledge and handling
- paddling and catching waves
- 5 step standing procedure
- practise

Price: 1,000 baht.

THE 3 DAY BEGINNER'S COURSE

In this course you will acquire all the necessary knowledge to become a competent surfer and will feel at ease in the surf.

DAY 1 (duration 1 hour)

We will cover :

- knowledge of the ocean
- safety precautions
- equipment knowledge and handling
- paddling and catching waves
- 5 step standing procedure
- supervised practise

DAY 2 (duration 1 hour)

We will cover :

- practise and fine tuning of technique
- paddling out through and over waves
- riding an unbroken wave
- supervised practise

DAY 3 (duration 1 hour)

We will cover :

- the ocean environment, how to read the waves and use the rips and tides to your advantage.
- practise and fine tuning of riding unbroken wave
- making forehand and backhand turns
- what you need to know about surf etiquette

Price: 2,400 baht.

SURFARIS

Go exploring Phuket's coastline, our guide will show you Phuket's best surfing spots, (secret spots included), that suit your ability and the day's conditions. All you will have to think about is your next wave.

Price: 1,600 baht.

Includes: transportation and non alcoholic drinks.

EQUIPMENT

We provide large size learner boards for our students, they are easy to balance, paddle, stand and ride on, these boards make learning a lot easier.

BOARD RENTALS

We have a wide choice of boards for rent, ranging from short boards, mini malibus and long boards.

If you would like to rent a board for several days then discounts are available.

LOCATION

Our school is based at the south end of Kata beach, just look for : DA KATA SURF SHOP AND SURF SCHOOL, that's us, we are right next to the boathouse boutique resort.

Kata beach and Nai Harn beach are some of the nicest beaches on Phuket and are the most popular places for surfing,they are on the west coast of the island on the southern part.

ACCOMMODATION

Right behind our surfing school are DA BUNGALOWS, these spacious comfortable bungalows have a great view over the bay and are not expensive, for more information please see our accommodation section.

WHEN TO GO?

Phuket gets it's surf from the South West monsoon, this starts in May and ends in October, this is also the rainy season in Phuket, the most rain falls in May, September and October, DURING THE MONTHS JUNE, JULY AND AUGUST MOST OF THE TIME THE WEATHER IS FINE, occasionally there are showers but they don't last long.
